Innovative solutions in the transport of refrigerated goods: DODO reduces the ecological footprint
The increasingly hot summer months present serious challenges in the transport of chilled and frozen food and medicine, especially in maintaining the cold chain. DODO, a company specializing in smart logistics solutions, responds to these challenges with new developments that not only help control the temperature, but also significantly reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
With an investment of nearly 40 million forints, DODO modernized its cooling technologies used during transport, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions by at least 150 tons per year. The new deep-freeze “Delta T” cooling units replace dry ice and ensure that the temperature of the cargo area is kept at a constant low level, even on the hottest days.
Due to increasingly longer and more intense heat waves, the continuous maintenance of the cooling chain has become vital. DODO’s self-developed, data-driven platform enables real-time monitoring and forecasting of external temperature, transport time, road traffic and the cooling needs of goods. As a result, shipments arrive at the correct temperature even in the hottest period.
According to Lukáš Gold, the general manager of DODO in Hungary, thanks to the new developments, the company is able to ensure the maintenance of the cooling chain even during summer heat waves, in an environmentally friendly way.
“Using data-driven solutions, we minimize the ecological footprint of transport and ensure that all products, whether food or medicine, reach the recipient at the right temperature”
Gold said.
In addition to refrigerated goods, DODO’s smart logistics services also play a prominent role in the delivery of over-the-counter medicines, guaranteeing precise temperature control throughout the entire process. With the help of advance route planning and traffic data analysis, DODO minimizes the risk of delays in refrigerated shipments, ensuring that the goods arrive at the recipient on time and in perfect condition.
