Free marijuana for food
A California food bank raked in donations for needy families this year after teaming up with a neighboring medical marijuana dispensary to provide complimentary joints to those who donated at least four cans of food, KTVU-TV in Oakland reported Thursday.
Medical marijuana patients at the Granny Purps dispensary in Soquel, Calif., were given a complimentary marijuana cigarette for every four cans they donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Watsonville, Calif.
The drive, which lasted from November through Christmas Eve, took in roughly 11,000 pounds of food, and nearly 2,000 joints were handed out as a result, the station said.
