Costa Coffee launches “commuter focused” store
Costa Coffee has launched its first ‘commuter-focused’ concept store in Lewisham, London. The site is one of eight new mini-format stores opening in the city’s busiest rail stations over the next six months.
The Lewisham store occupies an area which was formerly the station manager’s office. The space has been reconfigured with busy commuters in mind. Layout and ordering systems have been designed for customers to be in and out of the store in a few minutes.
For speed of service, all new mini-format stores are takeaway only and offer contactless payment options, with some also having self service ordering screens. To reduce queuing even further, customers can order ahead using Costa’s recently launched mobile ordering service, available through the Costa Coffee club app.
