Food boosting inflation
According to a KSH report, consumer prices remained unchanged in August 2007, compared to July, but the rate of inflation was 8.3 per cent. Prices were on average 8.5 per cent higher in the first eight months of 2007, than a year earlier. Compared to July 2007, food prices rose by 0.1 per cent. The prices of flour, eggs, cooking oil, poultry, pork, bread and milk increased. The rise in food prices compared to August 2006, was above the average rate of inflation, with 10.9 per cent. According to an Eurostat report, the average inflation rate in the Euro zone was 1.8 per cent, compared to 2.4 per cent a year earlier.
