Christmas is coming sooner in American stores this year
Most major department store chains in the U.S. plan to start the Christmas season much earlier than usual this year, the Financial Times writes.
Customers there can listen to the Christmas songs even before Halloween (October 31). At the same time, big price cuts start earlier in a few weeks. Macy’s, Kohl’s, Calvin Klein, Guess and Target are all planning an early departure never seen before. Experts say a longer year-end shopping period promises more revenue, but due to strong price competition, it won’t necessarily lead to higher profits. (napi.hu, Komócsin Sándor)
