The 19th Coop Rally is starting

“If the domestic retail enterprises that created the group 30 years ago, when the Coop Economic Group was established, had not decided to join forces, there would not have been a single Coop Rally, let alone 19,” said László Pekó, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CO-OP Hungary Zrt., at the national press conference announcing the 19th Coop Rally.

The nearly 300 participants of the professional meeting will visit six food manufacturing companies in Western Hungary and two member companies of the COOP Group between September 9-10. The aim of the program is to promote quality Hungarian food and products.

András Tállai said that the Ministry of Agriculture considers it the goal of the Ministry of Agriculture to promote the safest and highest quality service provided by the domestic agriculture and food industry to Hungarian families. “About 60 percent of domestic food production is sold domestically, and due to the open market, international competition is quite serious, a challenge that the Hungarian food industry must meet.” He added that the sector’s sales revenue last year was about 6,800 billion forints, which represents a 6.5 percent increase compared to the previous year. “It is very important that the proportion of Hungarian products is increasing, which is also reflected in consumption,” the deputy minister emphasized.
