Harvest to start
The winemakers are optimistic, over this year’s wine harvest, which is expected to be smaller than the average, but in case of long fall, top wines may born from the late harvest varieties.
Due to this year’s weather, about 10 percent less wine is expected. Nagy Gergely, Secretary of the Villány Wine Council of Wine Communities told, that usually not the hail, but the big spring rains were the problem. The rainfall damaged mostly the merlot and the portugieser plantations – reports szabadfold.hu.
