Location-based mobile marketing service launched
After two years of preparation work by T-Systems International, Hungary is the first country in the region where a location-based mobile marketing service becomes available. Katalin Vigné Szalontai, wholesale director of Magyar Telekom told that the service relies on Magyar Telekom’s ‘Promotion for you’ programme: anyone who registers at www.akcioneked.hu will receive personalised promotion offers. Users can specify what kind of products or services they are interested in and they get one message per campaign per week, but only a maximum of 3 messages a day and 5 a week. Only those receive the messages who are close to the given store or restaurant. So far only Magyar Telekom has joined the programme, but service provider IT Services Hungary’s managing director Csaba Böthe hopes that other mobile companies will join soon.
