Following the model of the Best of Balaton program, which has been operating successfully for years, the first to recommend our westernmost city, Best of Sopron, is launching. The ambassadors – Károly Eperjes, Zsuzsa Rakovszky, Dr. László Magas, Tímea Babos, Zsófia Fegyverneky, Attila Kovács, Péter Hoffer, Beatrix Harrer-Abosi, Barni Abosi, Enikő Luka, Tamás Taschner, Dr. Imre Tóth, Judit Käesz and Csaba Rokob, Péter Ratatics, and Sándor Veress-Győri – make personal recommendations based on their fondest experiences and memories.

The most important domestic destinations regularly compile various lists that rank the best places, restaurants, and hotels in a city or region. Best of Balaton and the now-launched Best of Sopron are admittedly lists of personal recommendations. “As the head of the city, it is a pleasure and a source of pride for me that, after Lake Balaton, the Best of program is being launched in Sopron for the first time in the country. In the case of a tourism offer, the word of the locals counts, especially when we are talking about credible people. I would like to thank the Best of Sopron ambassadors for participating in this work and I am eagerly awaiting the 2025 offers!” – emphasized Dr. Ciprián Farkas, Mayor of Sopron.

“In the case of Lake Balaton and now, in Sopron, as a first step, we have put together a group of ambassadors. Relying on the advice of the locals and our personal experiences, we have asked people who not only know and love Sopron, but are also truly credible, and it is worth listening to them. They are the ones who will present Sopron in the coming period, through their own lenses, based on their personal experiences,” added Norbert Lobenwein, founder of Best of Sopron and Best of Balaton.
