The Inditex group (Zara) is significantly reorganizing its retail network worldwide, and in parallel with the closure of less profitable units, it is directing its investments into larger, more modern sales spaces and technological developments – wrote Economx, referring to international press reports and financial reports.

According to the paper, the wave of closures may not only affect Zara stores: other brands of the group (such as Zara Home, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Stradivarius) may also continue to “optimize” the network. The specific store list is not yet known, so it is also a question of whether the move will affect any of the Hungarian units.

According to Inditex’s communication, the strategy is not to abandon physical retail, but to close down smaller, weaker-performing stores, as well as to strengthen larger, modernized stores and omnichannel operations. Self-service solutions and automated return/exchange points are also among the development directions mentioned in the international press.
