Adidas expands in India
Adidas plans to add over 100 stores in India every year, target is being the number one brand in India by 2010.
At present, Adidas ranks the second after Reebok in the
Indian sports goods segment. They are followed by Nike. Adidas had only 70
stand-alone stores in India in 2005, and the number grew to 165 last year. Its
overall retail points, including multi-brand outlets in India, is close to
2000.
Adidas, which had taken over Reebok globally, together
enjoys over 50 percent of the market share in India.
