The Wholesale Market is celebrating its 25th anniversary
Hungary’s biggest wholesale market, specialized on the selling of vegetables and fruits opened its gates in the Nagykőrösi road in the summer of 1991.
Now the Wholesale Market is situated on 32 hectares. Since the opening 750 thousand tonnes of potatoes and 625 thousand tonnes of watermelons were sold, but Hungary's largest banana ripening complex can also be found here, where the 660,000 tonnes of bananas have matured in recent years. The market has a record as well: a heavyweight 44-kg pumpkin.
