This is what the households of the future will be like: large machines will take the burden off our shoulders

Imagine that our washing machine tells us in advance when it needs a little care, or that our refrigerator automatically switches to energy-saving mode when we are not at home. With LG ThinQ artificial intelligence, this can be experienced not only in movies, but also in our own homes. Although the solution is not yet available in Hungary, it could soon be like this in our households.

The artificial intelligence developed by LG, ThinQ UP, allows our large household appliances – such as our washing machine, dryer or refrigerator – to continuously learn based on our usage habits and receive new functions that follow our life rhythm. The related ThinQ Care, for example, predicts possible malfunctions before they even occur. The appliances constantly monitor usage and notice every small problem, suggesting simple solutions to eliminate them.

The ThinQ AI platform, which is focused on energy efficiency and ease of use, has been specifically developed for European consumers. The washing machines’ Energy Saving Mode reduces energy consumption, while the Fresh Keeper mode prevents clothes left in the machine from getting wrinkled or smelly after washing. The washing machine also notifies you when it’s time to start a drum cleaning cycle.

The refrigerators’ AI Saving Mode intelligently reduces energy consumption, the Night View function automatically dims the appliance’s display at night, and the Smart Fill system ensures that the water dispenser pours exactly the right amount of liquid into your glass.

LG is continuously preparing to introduce new ThinQ UP features in the future, which will be developed based on user feedback. You can even add your own to this by sharing your experiences with it in the ThinQ app.
