3rd International Food Innovation Conference
Anuga, the world’s biggest food industry trade fair – held between 12 and 14 October 2015 in Cologne – hosted the 3rd International Food Innovation Conference of the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL). The two-day conference aimed at creating the framework for international dialogues, in order to contribute to ensuring the safe future of global food supply. DIL president Volker Heinz told that new solutions can only work if they are integrated into existing systems. This year 150 representatives of 20 countries participated in the conference, including Minister of Economy in Lower Saxony Olaf Lies, who in his presentation talked about the importance of information exchange in the field of food innovation. Other speakers: Austrian trend researcher Hanni Rützler, who introduced various scenarios for food supply in the future. Christian Janze, the director of Deutsche Agri-Business Initiative and Michael Hüther, the director of Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft, (IDW) analysed trends from an economic perspective. n
