This is how we shop at Easter
During the Easter period, SZÉP Cards will play a prominent role, as they can be used to pay in restaurants and hotels, among other things. Last year and the year before, K&H SZÉP Cardholders spent the largest amount in restaurants, the financial institution announced. It was also revealed how bank card traffic developed during the Easter months.
One of the most extensive long weekends every year is Easter, when for many people the period from Good Friday to Easter Monday is spent without work or school. During this period, Széchenyi Pihenő Cards will come into focus, as they can be used to pay in restaurants, hotels, apartments, but can also be used to cover entertainment and the usual range of leisure activities at this time. K&H, on the occasion of this year’s upcoming Easter, looked at how those concerned spent with K&H SZÉP Cards in recent years. In addition, it was revealed how bank card spending developed in the given months.
Restaurants, hotels, other
Last Easter, the financial institution’s SZÉP Card customers spent the largest amount in restaurants, paying a total of nearly 155 million forints, which was 4 percent higher than the amount of under 150 million forints a year earlier.
The turnover in various hotels was over 50 million, but this is below the level of over 69 million forints for Easter 2023.
SZÉP Card spending classified as other categories – including zoo tickets or even spending on buying a bicycle – amounted to over 26 million forints last year, which was 25 percent higher than a year earlier.
Digital card payment has become more attractive
“Using the SZÉP Card has become even more convenient in recent times, as a result of electronic developments that play a prominent role in the financial institution’s strategy, it can now be used digitally. This solution is also becoming increasingly popular among K&H customers: at the end of last year, 2.5 percent of SZÉP Card transactions were made digitally, while in March this year they already exceeded the 3 percent level”
– said Zoltán Rammacher, Marketing Manager of the K&H Retail Customer Segment.
