This is how family companies enter 2024
After a significant improvement in the previous quarter, the mood of domestic family companies moderated by the end of the year, the K&H family companies index stands at 0 points. The reason for this is that the companies expect a much smaller increase in sales revenue and a larger decrease in profit in 2024, which also reduced the intention to invest and employ. Regarding the development of the economy, however, they are more optimistic, even in a one-year time frame, more people expect an improvement than a decline.
At the end of the year, family companies became uncertain, according to the latest results of the K&H family companies research, after the significant improvement in the previous quarter, their expectations were dramatically reduced.
“The K&H family companies index currently stands at 0 points, which is a slight drop compared to 3 points in the previous quarter. The reason behind the change is that the company sub-index showing the prospects of their own company fell from 8 points to 2 points, while the macro sub-index moved in the opposite direction, increasing from -10 points to -4 points. Companies see the development of their own situation less positively, while they are less and less pessimistic about the development of the macro environment”
– said Ákos Ékes, head of the K&H family companies center.
