This is how Rossmann Hungary celebrated its birthday
This year, Rossmann celebrated the 30th anniversary of its presence in Hungary. This significant milestone in the chain’s life was followed by a series of events affecting employees and customers. As the holidays approached, on December 18, the birthday was made memorable with a Christmas market with a special atmosphere, where in addition to delicious food and drinks, music and a 15% discount awaited the customers in Debrecen, the first domestic Rossmann store.
On December 17, 1993, exactly 30 years ago, Rossmann opened its first store in Debrecen, Hungary, at Jerikó utca 3. The location, which is located in an extremely busy and residential area, ensured a wide reach of the population, so after the positive reception, they further expanded their presence in Debrecen, on Piac Street. Currently, 42 people work in the shops in Debrecen, and the drugstore chain has employed a total of 230 people in the settlement over the past 30 years. Since the shops successfully adapted to the busy life of the city, thanks to this they were able to move towards other big cities in the countryside. Today, there are more than 240 Rossmann stores nationwide. All store premises are spacious, fit their huge assortment and the most modern needs, so they can offer customers a high-quality customer experience.
“The whole city was amazed by the Jerikó Street store, even though it was not in a central location. It sparkled and flashed, the equipment was beautiful, the service was kind and fast. These were not typical at the time. It was the first Western-style store and the first real drug store in Debrecen”
– recalled one of the oldest workers there.
