In this way, farmers can find out the condition of the soil they manage
Knowledge of the condition of soils, understanding of the processes taking place in the soil, and the demand for soil-related information are significant and constantly expanding both at the domestic and international level. It will not be any different in the upcoming KAP planning period, where measures to protect the soil will be prioritized, since stopping the degradation processes of this resource – i.e. its deterioration and erosion – is a very important task for everyone.
This is also because it is the most important means of production for farmers, which awaits the help and cooperation of its owner in order to ensure safe food production for thousands of years due to its adequate structure, organic matter content, and the living communities in the soil. However, this requires attention and care from everyone. – writes NAK.
In addition to on-site tests, which are very important, the overview of soil properties is supported by an interactive database available to everyone, thereby expanding the national outlook.
In order to achieve the above needs and goals, the ATK Institute of Soil Science (ATK TAKI) created the DOSoReMi geospatial information database within the framework of a tender, where we can browse, among other things, the chemical conditions, physical characteristics, lime and organic matter content of the soil of our area for the territory of the country. On the same page, in the Atlas menu, in addition to the described properties, you can find information about the occurrence of soil types, the position of sodium salts, and units prone to salinization or saline units through map files. Of course, these databases do not replace location-specific data, but they can be enriched with useful information.
