However, the conscious consumer attitude and the demand for convenience are bringing more and more innovative solutions to households: the demand for home carbonation devices is above average in Hungary compared to other markets, with every fifth Hungarian planning to purchase such a device within 12 months.

In this environment, solutions that are both practical, cost-effective and more sustainable are particularly appreciated.

The role of soda machines in the changing consumer environment

In Hungary, approximately two-thirds of the population (66%) have heard of home carbonated water machines. The use of the devices is intensive: the majority of active users make carbonated drinks at home several times a week, and many make them daily, which shows that the technology has quickly become part of everyday routine. The enthusiasm of users with a home device is also demonstrated by the fact that every second such respondent plans to purchase a new model. 20 percent of those participating in the research are open to purchasing a soda machine in the next 12 months, a rate higher than the global average, which also shows the market’s novelty.

Convenience that can encourage water consumption

Home carbonated water production combines important aspects for Hungarian households: convenience, the use of high-quality tap water and more conscious shopping. The most important benefits for users include having fresh sparkling water available at home at all times, no need to carry heavy bottles, and fewer problems with empty bottles. The solution not only offers an alternative to store-bought waters and soft drinks, but can also contribute to making water consumption a more natural part of everyday life, while households can make more informed decisions from both a financial and environmental perspective.
