This is how plane ticket prices will develop in 2024
It has always been important for travelers to choose the right moment when purchasing flight tickets in order to take advantage of various promotions and discounts. In the periods before the epidemic, flight prices were favorable, but as a result of Covid-19, the increase in costs and the decrease in demand brought new challenges for the airlines. Airline ticket prices have risen with general inflation, but what trends will they show in 2024?
According to the 2024 forecast of travel agency BCD Travel, a global drop of 0.8 percent is expected in the price of plane tickets. However, it is important to note that this decrease can be observed mainly in the case of regional flights, while a price increase of 0.5 percent is expected for intercontinental flights. So, although prices may decrease for regional trips, those who are preparing for longer trips can prepare for a smaller price increase.
In Europe, for example, a 2.1 percent drop in average ticket prices is expected. This can partly be explained by the economic situation of the region and the resurgence of the desire to travel. For European travelers, this could create an opportunity to explore different parts of the European Union more cost-effectively.
