This is how global apple and grape production will develop in 2020-21
According to the USDA, total apple production between 2020 and 2021 is projected to be 76.1 million tons, which is a decrease of 4 percent from 79.4 million tons a year ago. The USDA has indicated that much of the decline is due to severe spring frosts in northwest China’s provinces, which hit fruit production during flowering and reduced their production to 40.5 million tons. Total apple exports are forecast to remain at 5.8 million tonnes, due to higher exports from Poland – according to the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK). (agrarszektor.hu)
