Sour cherry, water melon, apple…Which one will be the next time bomb exploding in the gardening sector? An excess of supply exists in other countries as well, but that is not something for the minister to negotiate with angry suppliers about. No change is going to come until farmers start acting in an organised manner, through representative bodies. The fruit and vegetable sector is highly dependent on the weather. Sometimes it is too bad, while at other times, it is too good. Co-ordinated and organised production and marketing through co-operative ventures is the only solution.
