This year, the restaurants offering the best guest experience will be able to compete again
This year, they are looking for outstanding tourism and gastronomy players in the country who have contributed to the development and promotion of Hungarian tourism and food culture. Nominations for the SAKURA Award can be submitted until June 6, and the award ceremony will take place on June 27 in Nagykörű.
 The SAKURA Award was founded in 2024 by SVÉT and TOYOTA SAKURA. The award is more than just recognition: according to the organizers’ intentions, it also represents a new, higher level of cooperation, creating a kind of community platform where the recognized businesses, individuals, and organizations can carry out their value-creating and transfer activities even more efficiently.

This year’s award ceremony will take place on June 27 in Nagykörű. The event is organized by Toyota Sakura, SVÉTástál (Stylish Rural Restaurant Association) and is realized with the cooperation of the Kislépték Association, NAK and the Rural and Regional Development Support Unit operating in the Herman Ottó Institute Nonprofit Ltd.
The SAKURA Award focuses on one of the pillars of Japanese hospitality, omotenashi, which means service that goes beyond the expectations of guests, surpasses all expectations, and is conscious of the smallest details. The award is open to those restaurants, producers and accommodation providers who most authentically apply the principles of omotenashi in their activities, thereby providing their guests with unsurpassed experiences in all areas.
It is important to use domestic, and even locally produced, ingredients as much as possible. The reason for this is, on the one hand, to support the domestic economy, on the other hand, to ensure the best quality and guaranteed freshness, but no less important is the reduction of the ecological footprint of restaurant service.
