This year, the police are giving priority to the Balaton and Lake Velence regions
During the tourist season, the Balaton Public Safety Coordination Committee (BKKB) will coordinate the activities of the police headquarters in Somogy, Zala, Veszprém and Fejér counties, as well as the activities of associated bodies, local governments and civil organizations in the Balaton and Lake Velence regions, police.hu reported on the organization’s meeting in Zalaegerszeg on Friday.
The coordination of the activities this summer is carried out by the Zala County Police Headquarters, and the common goal of those participating in the committee is to prevent and detect crimes, traffic accidents and violations in frequented places.
Special emphasis is placed on informing the population and those wishing to relax with crime and accident prevention recommendations and calls, thus contributing to preserving the tourist appeal of the region and the peace of mind of its residents and visitors.
Iván Csaba Vereckei, Chief of Police of Zala, emphasized that a priority task in the summer is to increase the sense of public safety of those living in and visiting the lakeside settlements, as well as to prevent traffic accidents.
As the current chairman of the BKKB, Béla Kovács, Deputy Chief of Police of Zala, said: in addition to foot patrols, police officers with dogs, motorcycles and bicycles also perform duty on the lakeside. They conduct continuous inspections and ensure the smooth running of events, festivals and other events, in close cooperation with partner agencies.
Zoltán János Kuczik, National Deputy Chief of Police of Zala, spoke about how the police will continue to strengthen their forces to ensure the peace of mind of holidaymakers this year.
