dm’s Together for Babies program continues this year
The dm Together for Babies program was launched sixteen years ago, in which the drugstore takes on a symbolic role as godparents for 260 families with young children in difficult situations. As part of the program, 7,795 packages of babylove diapers were donated to Catholic Caritas this year, who will deliver them to families in need. The amount of support is nearly 26 million forints.
On February 17, 2026, organized by Catholic Caritas, the first babylove diapers were given away in a ceremonial setting in Monorierdő to the families who are participating in the dm Together for Babies program this year. Viktor Borbás, the head of the Monorierdei Charity Group and mayor, greeted those present, and Tibor Szász, the deacon of Monorierdei, opened the event with a short prayer and blessing the participating families. Krisztina Hittner, dm’s PR and customer service group leader, and Richárd Zagyva, the national director of Catholic Charity, handed over the diapers to thirteen local families who attended the event. At the ceremony, the children were treated to guitar singing and a paper theater performance.
At the opening, Richárd Zagyva said:
“Our cooperation with dm Hungary can be summed up in two words: personalism and solidarity for families. The program is the result of extensive cooperation, for which we thank our partners and volunteers, who draw a safety net around parents in need. Personalism is a core value for Karitász: it is important that the beneficiaries not only receive help, but also feel the community standing by them. That is why we have enriched today’s event with a playful element so that the experience of belonging becomes tangible and that we experience it together.”
The aim of the Together for Babies program is for the drugstore to play a symbolic role as a mediator for a family with young children in a difficult situation, and to ease the financial burden of those struggling with difficulties by providing enough diapers for several months. This is a significant saving for the families, which they can now use for something else, improving their quality of life. From the beginning, Catholic Caritas has been the drugstore’s partner in selecting the families, who are present in the everyday lives of the affected families as a national network and can deliver the packages to them.
The program has been further expanded, and this year 7,795 packages of diapers have been handed over to the charity’s workers, which represents support worth nearly 26 million forints. The donated diapers included 2,000 extra diaper packages in XS and 1 sizes, which are primarily provided to newborns who require prolonged hospital care or are forced to spend the first six weeks of their lives in an institution until they are ready for adoption.
The donation of diapers will continue nationwide, organized by regional Caritas centers.
“The arrival of a baby is always a joy in the family. However, in addition to the joy, it also places a serious financial burden on the family. We would like to ease these burdens with our products. We are happy to participate in the donation of diapers in person every year. Families can count on our support in the future as well. ”
– said Krisztina Hittner, dm PR and customer service manager, in her welcoming speech. group leader.
