The “Thank you, SIÓ” school bag program started again this year
Since 2008, Hungary’s leading fruit juice producer, SIÓ-Eckes, has launched the “Thank you, SIÓ!” program. As a result of the past few years, almost 750 institutions and 14,000 students have received support for school bags and school supplies, and schools are still waiting for applications in 2023 so that as many disadvantaged students as possible can receive help. Applications can be submitted online until July 17.
Among the projects initiated by SIÓ-Eckes with the aim of social responsibility, the “Thank you, SIÓ!” is one of the most successful and longest-running programs in which an average of 120 primary education institutions participate each year. The aim of the program is to facilitate and make the start of school a joyful time for families in a difficult economic situation. The company contributes to this by donating school bags and various learning equipment and stationery to around a thousand socially needy, hard-working lower school students every year.
The basis of the program is cooperation – each of the participating institutions must apply with at least 25 drawings made by the school’s non-needy students during the school term, this year in September. The theme of the drawing competition changes every year, but the aim is always to make it easier for the little ones to understand the concept of deprivation. In this way, students can experience the experience of joint creation, while also learning the beneficial power of togetherness. And the whole community can enjoy the fruits of their work not only during the creation, but also during the institutional SIÓ parties held in the spring semester.
