Nébih’s online Kitchen Control student competition is starting again this year
On October 6, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) will launch a large-scale online student competition on the Okos Doboz platform. The competition will be based on further expanded interactive teaching materials and animated videos. At the Kitchen Control competition, students can acquire key knowledge in the areas of food safety, quality, waste and sustainability. In addition, the students who solve the most tasks, the most active teacher, and the two most active schools can also win valuable prizes.
Nébih launched its Education Program in 2017, one of the main goals of which is to shape the attitudes of the younger generation. In recent years, more than 42,000 kindergarten, primary and secondary school students have participated in more than 650 sessions and lectures organized within the framework of the program. Interactive programs, as well as educational materials and publications available on the Nébih Education Program website, contribute to children becoming conscious consumers: learning about the risks associated with food and food-borne illnesses, being aware of prevention options, and taking into account the sustainability aspects of food.
The The animated videos and playful tasks available on the Kitchen Control subpage cover basic food safety and food waste-related topics. Among other things, seasonal vegetables and fruits in different seasons, the importance of using a cooler bag when shopping, and the most common causes of cross-contamination are all covered in the educational material.
The Nébih and Okos Doboz teams have expanded the Kitchen Control page with exciting new topics and tasks this year as well. The more than 90 tasks and 18 videos available are specifically aimed at the 12-18 year old age group. In the new tasks, students can learn about the special world of molds and effective menu planning, among other things.
The Kitchen Control competition will take place this year between October 6-26, 2025. The goal is for participating students to gain as much new and useful knowledge as possible on the topics of food safety, quality and waste, as well as sustainability, while also competing for valuable prizes. The office will reward the students who solve the most tasks correctly, the most active teacher, and the two most active schools. The detailed announcement is available at https://nebihoktatas.hu/2025/09/29/ujabb-feladatok-ertekes-n… page.
Interested teachers, parents and enthusiastic young people can get more information about the current news and events of the Educational Program on the office’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
