World tourism may increase this year

International tourism may increase already this year: According to the UN’s specialized organizations, the UNWTO; entries may increase by 3-4 percent, revenues by 1.5-2 percent, compared to last year.

According to the analysis published last year on the occasion of the Tourism Exhibition in Berlin; entries decreased by 4 percent from 922 million to 880 million. Revenues fell by 6 percent, but compared to the 12 percent reduction of world trade, tourism revenues are still relatively good.
All in all, year 2009 was one of the worst year of the profession, due to the crisis and due to the uncertainty around the H1N1 virus – reports MTI.
