Every year, gin lovers eagerly await the release of a new, unique flavour from the iconic Black Forest brand. This year, MONKEY 47’s experts have scoured the shimmering, pinkish salt flats of the Camargue in southern France to find the next “Species Rara”, the 48th botanical that makes the current limited edition Distiller’s Cut gin so special. The discovery of the year 2025 is the hand-harvested, rare Fleur de Sel, the famous sea salt of Camargue, which gives the gin a uniquely elegant, salty character.

Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut 2025 is a sophisticated yet characterful dry gin in which the salty breath of the sea meets the warmth of the sun and the complex world of the brand’s classic recipe of 47 herbs. The result is a spicy, yet smooth, extremely harmonious drink that evokes the natural beauty of the French Camargue.

“Every year we look for a new botanical treasure that gives our gin a special story and flavor. This year we visited the salt fields of Camargue, where the local specialty called ‘white gold’ is still hand-picked. The carefully selected Fleur de Sel brings the harmony of sunlight and sea – it fits perfectly with the character of Monkey 47.”

– says Rita Tóth, MONKEY 47’s Hungarian brand manager.

The brand’s well-known motto, “Same, same, but different”, comes to life again this year: the 2025 Distiller’s Cut both preserves the tradition of the classic gin recipe and shows something new to fans of unexpected flavor combinations. Camargue Fleur de Sel subtly emphasizes the herbal complexity of the gin, while enriching the drink with a fresh, salty dimension.

“MONKEY 47 Distiller’s Cut 2025 is not just a gin, but rather a special taste journey to the sunny salt fields of southern France. The perfect balance of delicate salty nuance and herbal elegance provides an experience that even the most demanding gin fans will find special.”

– adds Zoltán Rácz, the brand’s Hungarian brand ambassador.
