This year, there will be 20-25 percent less cereals production
The harvest of cereals and oilseed rape completed in Hungary. According to GOSZ; that due to the bad weather conditions 25-30 percent less cereals were produced.
Vancsura József, Chairman of the the National Association of Cereal Growers (GOSZ) stated that autumn wheat was produced on 1.38 million hectares. The yield per hectare is expected to be around 3.8 tons. The autumn barley was produced on almost 196 thousand hectares. The yield per hectare has reached an average of 3.3 tonnes. Sown rye grew on a little more than 41 thousand hectares. The yield per hectare is an average of 1.68 tonnes.
Total cereal production is expected to be 25-30 percent less compared to last year and will be around 5.5 million tonnes – reports ProfitLine.hu.
