This year in the first 11 months price increased by 6.3%
According to the Hungarian Statistic Office in November 2008 consumer prices decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month and rose by 4.2% compared to November 2007.
In November 2008 compared to the
previous month food prices increased by 0.1%. Price increase was measured in case of pork fat
(6.6%), sugar (2.1%), pasta products (1.6%) as well as egg (1.1%).
Price decrease was measured in case of
edible oil (3.3%), flour (1.8%), pork and milk (0.8-0.8%). The price
rise of electricity, gas and other fuels was the highest (2.1%)
comprising a 7.7% price rise of piped gas. In case of clothing and
footwear (0.4%), consumer durable goods (0.2%) as well as alcoholic
beverages and tobacco (0.1%) price increase was measured. In case of
services and other goods prices decreased by 0.3% and 2.5%. Within
other goods price decrease of motor fuels was 8.6%.
In November 2008 compared to November
2007 food prices rose by 4.9%, a higher-than-average rate. In this category a substantial
price increase was observed in case of pork fat (37.2%), edible oil (31.5%), rice, other cereals (28.1%) as
well as pork (15.1%). Price decrease was measured in case of seasonal
food items (22.1%). In case of electricity, gas and other fuels
prices increased by 18.2%, at a rate higher than the average, while
piped gas rose by 41.7%, electricity by 9.8%. The price rise of
alcoholic beverages, tobacco (5.8%) was higher than the average. In
case of services (3.9%) price
increase was below than the average.
Consumers paid 0.7% less for consumer durable goods compared to
November 2007. In case of other goods prices decreased by 0.2%
comprising a 4.8% price decrease of motor fuels.
