That’s the way Hungarians are planning their holiday
As the weather warms, the epidemic becomes more and more topical: what about this year’s holiday? And if we decided to go on vacation, where do we go? Should we stay in the country or go abroad? With which vaccine can we go and go? The Ynsight Research research team wanted to know what netizens thought about these issues, looking at online discourse over a total of seven months from late October 2020 to the end of May 2021.
In our research, we looked at public social media conversations published in the online space and over the 7 months studied (26.10.2020-31.05.2021) more than 21,000 online content addressed the holiday issue (articles, blog posts, comments, forum topics, Twitter appearances) and received more than 80,000 additional user reactions. The trend of the conversation below reflects the growing concern of netizens as summer approached.
As the summer months approached, the question of opening up, solving the problem of vaccination travel, and then the choice of destination became a major topic in the hope of opening (should the destination be chosen domestically or abroad?). The subsequent epidemiological measures and the news of the adoption of vaccinations also appearing in the discourse of users who had previously hesitation about the organisation of this year’s holiday.
