Twenty billion dollars to the african agriculture
The world's economic superpowers will provide a 20 billion USD aid for agricultural developments in poor countries – agreed the participants of the G8 meeting.
The three-year grant which will beprovided by mostly the United States, the European Union and Japan is a turning point in the existing policy. It emphasized on agricultural production rather than food aid in the countries struggling food problems.
Barack Obama, U.S. President added: "there is no reason why Africa should not be self-sufficient in food". Africa has areas of arable, only because of the lack of technology, the lack of seeds, irrigation and the skills needed to marketing are missing – reports Figyelőnet.
