Twenty types of cheese will be cheaper in Lidl’s offer
Lidl Hungary, as an ethical company, remains committed to making everyday food more accessible to Hungarian families. Thanks to the reduction in purchase prices, the company is now reducing the prices of a total of twenty different types of cheese, by an average of 12 percent, but there are products where the price reduction reaches up to 26 percent.
Lidl Hungary, as the market-leading supermarket chain, is committed to providing its customers with the best possible prices at all times. The supermarket chain constantly monitors consumer needs and market changes and, as part of its price reduction strategy, reduces the prices of products wherever it can. In this way, it regularly passes on the price advantage resulting from the reduction in purchase prices to its customers. Thanks to the latter, the discount chain is taking another significant step that affects everyday shopping: it is reducing the prices of twenty popular cheeses, by an average of 12 percent.
More than half of the discounted products are available with a discount of between 10 and 26 percent, so customers can get their hands on popular cheeses at particularly favorable prices. For example, 200-gram Milbona sliced Edam cheese can be purchased for 559 forints instead of 719 forints, 200-gram Milbona sliced Gouda cheese can be purchased for 599 forints, 20 percent cheaper, but 150-gram Milbona Maasdamer cheese specialties can also be purchased for 22 percent less, only 699 forints. With this measure, the company aims to once again demonstrate its commitment to providing its customers with the best possible prices while maintaining the usual high quality, and thereby contribute to reducing the everyday burden on households.
“At Lidl, we work consistently, month after month, to support Hungarian families during their everyday shopping. With our current decision, we prove once again: we do not think in one-off steps, but rather provide support to our customers along a long-term, predictable strategy. Since cheeses form a significant part of families’ shopping baskets, we considered it important to extend the price reduction to as many types as possible thanks to the more favorable purchase prices. The campaign affects products such as Milbona gouda, emmental, cheddar, French camembert, or Pilos mozzarella and processed cheese – in sliced, chopped and grated form, including lactose-free versions. Our goal is to ensure that all “We want to make lower prices available in all product categories – classic, premium and free”
– said Zoltán Nepp, Lidl’s purchasing director.
Lidl has recently implemented permanent price reductions in several product areas. As part of the company’s ethical and responsible operations, it supports customers not only with promotions but also with long-term price reductions: this year, the prices of several basic foodstuffs, such as milk, tomatoes, butter and orange juice, have been permanently reduced. In preparation for the festive season, the price of its own-brand, 100-gram Fin Carré chocolates has also been reduced by 20%, so customers can access quality, Fairtrade-certified products at a favorable price. The company’s goal remains to offer Hungarian families affordable, quality food and to continuously strengthen customer trust through responsible business decisions.
