Twenty Hungarian small-scale breweries will show everything on Saturday
As part of a national program, Hungarian small-scale breweries are holding a coordinated open day on Saturday. On Open Brewers’ Day, domestic breweries are open to visitors for one day, and in the evening it will be revealed which is the country’s most popular fruit beer.
Around twenty breweries have joined the Open Brewers’ Day program this year, in the framework of which visitors from Győr-Moson-Sopron county to Borsod are welcomed with brewery visits, beer tastings and demonstrations of new products.
This year, several small-scale breweries joined the initiative, which started operating during the first wave of brewery openings after the regime change – thirty years ago. Since then, a generational change has taken place in them, and despite the current, unfavorable economic environment, they are present on the market with new products and with the same momentum as younger businesses, said Gábor Knap, the main organizer of the Open Brewers’ Day.
In the breweries open on May 20, the brewmaster will personally welcome the guests, who can get to know the ingredients of beer, the process of making the drink and, of course, taste the locally made specialties.
