SPAR Hungary celebrated twenty years last year
SPAR Hungary expanded further in 2011 and an important element of this expansion was the refurbishment of another 27 former Plus stores. Two new units also opened, one of them is a 2000m² supermarket in Szeged that features a ‘SPAR to go’ snack bar.
At the moment SPAR’s network consists of 389 stores, from which 31 are INTERSPAR units and 358 are supermarkets. SPAR Hungary celebrated its 20th birthday last year with an all-round marketing communication campaign and after boosting its on-line presence very quickly achieved great success in the social media. The SPAR PREMIUM product range made the successful SPAR private label assortment more colourful. SPAR Hungary introduced the no-touch PayPassTM payment solution, which works with MasterCard and Maestro cards and special wrist watches. The company continued and deepened its charity work through its strategic partnership with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
