Trade in food and agricultural products has doubled in twenty years
Between 1995 and 2018, global food and agricultural trade rose to 1.5 trillion USD, more than doubling, as developing countries’ exports expanded, accounting for a third of global exports today, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in its new analysis.
According to a new report on the state of agricultural markets, world trade and functioning markets are cornerstones of development and can contribute to inclusive economic growth, sustainability and resilience.
