Easter ham traffic remained stable
Consumers continue to purchase Easter ham. Retail sales increased in value by 5 percent, in quantities by 1 percent last year in the March-April season, compared to the previous year's comparable period – states Nielsen.
Last year, 21 percent of the annual volume of about 3 thousand tons was marketed in two months. In terms of value the March-April ham traffic approached 5 billion HUF.
In the case of Easter ham, purchases shifted into the hypermarkets.
During the full last year in value 4 percent more, in volume 2 percent less ham was, compared to the datas of a year earlier. The size of the market is 26 billion HUF in value and 14-15 thousand tons in volume, annually.
