Let’s choose domestic Easter ham!
Domestic meat industry enterprises are preparing for the Easter season with high-quality products again this year. Customers can choose from a wide range of products, so everyone can find the ham product that suits them best. The National Chamber of Agriculture and the Association of Hungarian Butchers recommend consumers to look for domestic products, as the Hungarian origin is also a guarantee of quality.
The players in the domestic meat industry are optimistic about this year’s Easter season. According to the joint market overview of the National Chamber of Agriculture and the Hungarian Meat Industry Association, most processors focus on higher quality products during this period. In addition to long-aged traditional ham and cured hams, most of them also produce higher-quality hams from quick-cured products.
Since there was no significant increase in the price of raw materials before this season, the interviewed meat processors expect at least a turnover similar to last year, most of them expect a 5-15 percent increase from this year’s Easter. In the case of smaller plants, the Easter turnover can reach up to 30 percent of the annual volume, in the case of larger enterprises this proportion is lower, since the volume of production in large meat plants is constantly high.
