Easter chocolates: Most favourites are the egg and the bunny
The retail turnover growth of Easter confectionery came to a halt last year. According to Nielsen Retail Index; during the holiday period of 2009, a 1 percent decrease occured in value and 8 percent in volume in slaes.
Last year, the Easter confectionery retail sales value was 2.7 billion HUF and volume was around 890 tonnes.
The most popular confectionery are the chocolate egg and bunny for years, following by candy packages including other gifts, then the traditional packages and the chocolate duck, lamb and chicken.
