The return to the Russian market will not necessarily help Hungarian meat industry
The big question is that how the companies, interested in pork meat exports, can live with the return chance to the Russian market. Currently, it is almost impossible to satisfy larger demands due to the lack of basic materials.
The Pécs based factory of Pick-Szeged Zrt, was affected by this week with the cancelled export restrictions, where cut pork was used to transported to Russia before. The company is not able to restart, it must first assess the demand, prices, and should be re-incorporated its cut pork markets.
The significant weakening of the ruble and the lack of basic materials can be another problem.
The cutting machines are operating only three days a week, so it is difficult to achieve a greater increase in exports.
The 99 Kometa Ltd. also began to examine how and when can be return back to the Russian market. Hollósy Tibor Deputy Executive pointed out that the ban only applied to the export of cutted pork and thinking about exporting again – reports Index.
