Mangalica Pig may become a Hungarikum
The aim of the breeders is that the high-quality Mangalica Pig, that has a centuries of tradition to be included among the Hungarikums – said Tóth Péter, President of the National Association of Mangalica Breeders on Monday at the press conference of the 2nd Debreceni Mangalica Days.
According to his presentation, in 110 domestic farms, 6800 registered and 6800 unregitered Mangalica Pigs are breeded and annually 60 thousand porkers are produced. As he said, this latter figure is about the 2 percent of the domestic pig stocks and half of them is cut at home cuttings – reports Világgazdaság Online, after MTI.
