Tesla will use humanoid robots from next year
Starting next year, Tesla will use self-made humanoid robots in its plants, initially in small numbers and for internal purposes, CEO Elon Musk announced on Monday on the X messaging service.
The introduction and use of the “Optimus” robots will begin at the end of 2024 at Tesla’s plants, and mass production for other companies will begin in 2026.
The development of humanoid robots modeled after the human figure has been going on for several years at several companies, for example at the Japanese car manufacturer Honda and the company Boston Dynamics, considered a pioneer in robotics, which, by the way, is an interest of Hyundai Motor.
Humanoid robots are primarily used for logistics, warehousing and manufacturing/production tasks, mainly to replace human work.
