Hoventa – everything that is catering
This year’s Hoventa attracted over 15,000 visitors. The main attraction was the WACS Global Chefs Challenge”, but the 4th Hungarian Barista Championship was also a very successful event. Over 150 representatives of the Hungarian HoReCa business attended the event held between 25-28. September. The „WACS Global Chefs Challenge” undoubtedly attracted the largest number of visitors. As Mrs. Etele, managing director of Hoventa Kiállításszervező és Szolgáltató Kft. has told us, the equipment of the four identical kitchens installed for the competition was worth HUF several million. Attila Bicsár, winner of the “Tradition and Evolotion” competition and Domonkos Chvala represented our country in the WACS competition. The winners of the competition were Toine Smulders and Robert Hartelman from the Netherlands, who will compete in the „WACS Global Chefs Challenge” final to be Held in Dubai, in May. Álmán Kalla and Dénes Nemeskövi master chefs held roasting demonstrations at the Metro Hungary stand, using grey beef, Argentine beef, mangalica and fresh fish. Practically all elements of the Metro assortment were displayed, from food and drinks to china and textiles for the catering business. A large number of companies represented the coffee business, including coffee making equipment. Attila Molnár, a barista from Alois Dallmayer became the winner of this year’s Barista Champiobship, held for the 4th time. Alois Dallmayer is active in training baristas and maintained a demonstration of expert coffee making throughout the exhibition. Piazza d’Oro was used by Sara Lee for their show of barista expertise, as they have been committed to developing coffee culture in Hungary for years. –According to Iván Garis, Senior Espresso Specialist, they devote a lot of attention to providing the right environment for serving coffee as an essential component of overall quality. Cady Trade, the distributor of Saeco coffees and machines won the award for the most attractive stand in the 25-50 square meter category. The work clothing presented in exciting fashion shows organised by MM Expo could be purchased at the stands of other exhibitors as well. Gastrogroup Hungary appeared with a wide assortment of kitchen equipment, including Rational machines, presented by Lázár Kovács. At the stand of Skill-Trade, László Nótár master chef demonstrated the universality of UNOX steaming machines. The Miele stand was found by the jury to be the most attractive among “small” installations. This year, industrial dish-washing machinery was exhibited at the stand, which visitors were able to test for themselves. According to Zoltán Asztalos, sales manager of Taxus-Ten, distributor of the Tork paper towel dispensers, continuous presence at Hoventa is a must. It is a positive development, that an increasing number of IT companies offering practical hardware and software solutions appear at the Hoventa exhibition.
