Hotel facade that blew the fuse in Berlin – Picture of the day
The colorful facade of the Happy Go Lucky Hotel & Hostel in Berlin does not fit into the environment – the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court ruled a few days ago. From now on, large-scale graffiti and inscriptions must be painted over.
The artwork, which is considered a sight in Berlin, was created by the Irish artist Dom Browne back in 2016. It is currently owned by American marketing entrepreneur Alan Wolan, CEO of GoGorillaMedia.com – meaning further legal battles are on the cards.
“If the work of art owned by Alan Wolan is repainted by the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf District Office, Wokan will take legal action and demand compensation from the state of Berlin and the construction company – also in the American courts, in New York and Los Angeles, where they do not think and act like provincially, like in Berlin,” announces Alexander Skora, who owns the building. Stuttgarter Platz 17 will continue to be exciting!”
