Hotel facade that blew the fuse in Berlin – Picture of the day
The colorful facade of the Happy Go Lucky Hotel & Hostel in Berlin does not fit into the environment – the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court ruled a few days ago. From now on, large-scale graffiti and inscriptions must be painted over.
The artwork, which is considered a sight in Berlin, was created by the Irish artist Dom Browne back in 2016. It is currently owned by American marketing entrepreneur Alan Wolan, CEO of GoGorillaMedia.com – meaning further legal battles are on the cards.
“If the work of art owned by Alan Wolan is repainted by the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf District Office, Wokan will take legal action and demand compensation from the state of Berlin and the construction company – also in the American courts, in New York and Los Angeles, where they do not think and act like provincially, like in Berlin,” announces Alexander Skora, who owns the building.
