South-Transdanubian tourism renews with heroes’ trials
After last year’s decline, this year's tourism season was surprisingly good in South Transdanubia. The heroes’ trials held in the region’s castles remain popular – announced Hegyi Zsuzsa, South Transdanubian Regional Marketing Manager of the Hungarian National Tourist Office at a press conference on Tuesday in Pécs.
Hegyi Zsuzsa called year 2011 dramatic. She said, that a nearly 20 percent drop occurred in 2011 in guest traffic in the region. She believes that the main cause was the lack of resources. However for first half of this year, they managed to recover a part of the clientele – the expert stressed. Already a 10 percent sales growth is measured in South Transdanubia, compared to the same period of last year, which is the second best result nationally. (MTI)
