In Croatia the pigs are destroyed again
African swine fever (ASP) is destroyed again in Croatia: About 10,000 pigs in Baranya, Baranya, will be eliminated in the Bellye (Belje) agricultural company, David Vlajcic said on Saturday.

The ministry leader also emphasized that the country is facing the largest epidemic to date. The virus was also shown in the suburbs of Osijek, Nemetin, where the epidemic is affected by a 1600 pig. For the spread of the disease, only the human factor, irresponsibility and illegal activities can be blamed, so the main distributor is man himself, the minister said. Vlajcic recalled that since 2023, 41,000 pigs had to be destroyed in Croatia due to ASP, and more than 51,000 animals will be eliminated, along with current cases. This is about 5 percent of the total Croatian pigs, he underlined. He warned that 67 percent of pigs are raised on 1.5 percent of livestock farms, so there is a risk that the current 5 percent drop is up to 75 percent if the disease spreads to larger economies. “If we are not decisive enough, we will soon be isolated within the EU, which would cause unpredictable damage to Croatian pig breeding,” he said.
Defense Minister Ivan Anusic also attended Saturday’s meeting of the National Crisis team
He said that a Croatian army is being conducted to disinfect infected or suspicious colonies, and the technical units also help to sleep and transport pigs. African swine fever is a viral disease against which there is no vaccine and causes great losses in the pig and the economy. There is no danger to other animal species.
