How far have we come?
We heard some success stories during our Business Days conference held in September. For example Pöttyös sales exceed that of Cola in some stores. However, price rises were in the focus of our attention. Various survival strategies were reviewed, while some presenters demanded government intervention. I tend to share their opinion, that law abiding behaviour is a precondition of fair competition and it is quite frightening that there are no practical means to prosecute illegal merchants in most cases. It is not easy to subsidise agriculture from taxpayers money either. I am off to visit Anuga and see how far we have come.
