Battery-powered machines and robotic technology are conquering Hungary
Battery-powered garden machines and robotic lawnmowers are gaining ground, and demand for them is growing rapidly in Hungary as well. Husqvarna, a leading player in the sector, presented its latest innovations at a press event held at the Continental Citygolf Club golf course in Budapest. The company achieved significant sales growth in these categories in 2024, especially thanks to higher-specification, environmentally friendly solutions.
Husqvarna, a Swedish group that manufactures gardening and forestry products, was able to increase its sales in 2024 as well. The growth was driven by three main factors: a more conscious display of original Husqvarna parts and accessories in the dealer and service network, the successful market launch of the new battery-powered product program, and the increasing interest in robotic lawnmowers. With the development of robotic technology and intelligent applications, robotic lawnmowers are becoming an increasingly attractive alternative not only in terms of convenience but also in terms of efficiency, which can also be seen in the Hungarian market.
The rise of robotic technology and battery-powered machines
Interest in robotic lawnmowers is constantly growing in our country. As one of the market leaders, Husqvarna sells millions of robotic lawnmowers every year, and as an expert in the technology for over thirty years, it is constantly developing its products. The market is doubling every year, and the pace of development is extraordinary. Together with battery-powered machines, they accounted for 30% of the company’s total annual turnover in 2024.
“Although the market for robotic lawnmowers is constantly growing, the size of the total market is difficult to estimate. However, thanks to our developments and 30 years of experience, we offer our users even more personalized solutions every year. This year, we expanded our Automower® NERA product line with two new robotic lawnmowers for smaller gardens, and we supplemented all lawnmowers in the product line with the systematic lawnmower function, and we also developed vision technology based on artificial intelligence, making lawn mowing even more precise,”
– explained Zoltán Volonics, Sales Manager at Husqvarna.
Thanks to the development of battery technology, sales of the machine family powered by compatible batteries also grew dynamically in 2024.
