Hipercom: How much does Easter cost this year?
Easter has already began if we consider it from the viewpoint of special offer leaflets. The database of Hipercom Monitoring takes a closer look at the prices of products linked to Easter, especially compared to 2011.
The very first Easter-theme magazine was issued by Metro and Teso. Metro published a 32 page-long Easter-leaflet on 14th March, while Tesco launched a campaign with a special offer leaflet on 2nd March.
Eggs have seen a serious increase in prices as compared to the previous year. While we could purchase eggs for 20 HUF last year, this year the average price for eggs was around 40 HUF in early March, and changed to 50 HUF shortly before Easter.
Chocolate eggs and bunnies went through the same changes in prices. Last year, we could buy a 209 chocolate egg in Tesco for 19 HUF, and today we would have to pay 19 HUF for the same product.
